Indian cinema legend Amitabh Bachchan met the writer–director–producer of the upcoming feature film The Family I Chose, which is scheduled to be shot exclusively in Gangtok.

Veteran actor Kanwaljit Singh has officially joined the cast of The Family I Chose, the upcoming independent feature written, directed, and self-financed by filmmaker Kankana Chakraborty. The film, which also stars two-time National Award-winning actor Sarika, will go on floors in Gangtok from November 12. Marking the first-ever on-screen pairing of Kanwaljit Singh and Sarika, the film explores themes of chosen family, grief, redemption, and emotional belonging, with Gangtok serving not merely as a backdrop but as an emotional landscape shaping the narrative.
